ABOUT ME

Meynard was a lecturer at the University of Baguio (Philippines). I taught Information Technology, Computer Science, but mostly Computer Engineering students.

 He is a graduate of Master in Information Technology and he has a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering.

 Also, he has worked in a call center for two years mostly dealing with data analysis and real time monitoring before entering the academe in 2006.  With this nature of his work, he learned to love blogging and writing about many things.  Writing is like telling a story - what's more perfect to blog out loud than the snapshots of his life.

 He loves travelling especially to the beach and experiencing other cultures.  He was fortunate to visit Macau, Hongkong, Japan and South Korea.

 He likes to write about "how" he did a travel, pointers on what to's and not-to's in visiting a place.

 Meynard's goal is to make his blog richer by adding more posts on possible places to visit and hopefully expand it to broader subjects.

 He loves to learn and exchange ideas. He hopes this blog will bridge other travelers and bloggers by sharing his contents to everyone.

  Introduction      Many universities require us to take Computer Architecture as part of the requirements of a computer-related course.  One of the best ways to learn the architecture and organization of the computer is dive into the low-level design.  As part of the architecture, we deal with ISA or the Instruction Set Architecture.  What better way to learn this than Assembly Language!     In this blog post, I will discuss how to display string in 8086 Assembly Language so prepare your emulator and start coding. I will be using service 09 of the DOS INT 21h.  For those who are new in Assembly Language, service 09 is a request from the operating system's list of basic tasks.  When you invoke (or use) this service, you are asking the OS to print something.  INT 21h on the other hand is an interrupt.  It causes your main program to pause (or be interrupted) and let the system jump to another code (of the OS's) as specified by the service.  It is like saying "go, execute th

SIT Amazing Race in Bicol (part 3 of 3)

Sixth Stop: CARAMOAN ISLANDS From Donsol, we went to Caramoan Islands.  One of the longest trip I ever had (I'll tell you why in a moment).  We called up the van we hired from Legazpi to Donsol to bring us back to Daraga with the same price.  He brought another van with a different seat orientation which made me a bit sick especially that Donsol to Daraga is "bitukang-manok" or zig zag. We were able to deal PhP 1,200.00 for 12 persons going back to Daraga vs PhP 20.00 tricycle per head plus 100.00 van per head.
